Feature Requests Pause monitoring of a web site

Completed

Given security issues like this, https://cert.europa.eu/publications/security-advisories/2026-018/, it would be nice to be able to pause monitoring of some web sites I have online that are not critical and which I can take down until a fix is available.

I can workaround this by deleting and recreating the web site in my account. But it's just a bummer that I lose all the historical monitoring and performance data associated with that domain.

It would be nice to be able to play/pause monitoring, and also pause monitoring for a predetermined period of time. i.e. pause monitoring for 1 hour, 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, etc. for a specified maintenance window

Thanks for listening.

Hello Jeff,

Sorry if this was not easy to locate but you can already pause a check using this toggle on the left (during edit):

It's also possible to mute alerts for a specific duration using this bell icon in the UI (only for down checks), or the links in your alerts:

You can also do that using the API which works even for UP checks: see https://updown.io/doc/how-to-automate-check-disable
